Depending on the timing, we will use a variety of cover crops, also known as 'green manure'.  This will help keep a plant cover on exposed ground between crops and, when worked back into the ground, provide nutrients to the following crops.  These may include Austrian Winter Peas, Black Oats, Cereal Rye, Cow peas, Crimson Clover, Lupin, Oats, Buckwheat, and Sunn Hemp.

And always remember....Gardening is weather dependent.  Soil conditions, seed, transplant availability and timing as well as your garden's specific microclimate all affect your choices and results from season to season.
From planting to harvest can take several weeks or months.  We often leave open space in the garden for succession planting or rest.  We will plant, weather permitting, according to recommended  timing for vegetables grown in this area.  Huntsville actually has two subzones because of the impact of the river and the mountains.
We strive to provide heirloom and open pollinated varieties of seed and plants.  If you prefer a particular hybrid, we can, of course try to provide that.  We'll be glad to plant any seeds you've purchased or saved.  Subject to seasonal availability, we are happy to provide Certified Organic seed and plants.
